On 6 September, to mark the 50th anniversary of the Sandai, the Eto-Ogen Service for Emanations of Awakening Wisdom will be held at the Ogen Centre to officially establish the core chant of the Shinnyo Path, Jojusan (Namu Shinnyo) and its melody together with the mantra of benevolence and spiritual liberation.
Join us to participate at this momentous service which will be held on 9 September 2017 at 3pm, Suntec Convention Centre, Crescent Room 2 . There will be a replay of this service on 17 September at 10am
Like many other religions, Buddhist traditions include recitations of verses as part of their formal practice. Fifty years ago, Shinnyo-en established our core chant, Sandai, which in words of Master Shinjo Ito, “expresses the universal truth of the inseparability of the Three Jewels of Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha: for the Buddha becomes present for us through the Dharma, and the Dharma is given expression in the Sangha.” As Her Holiness teaches, Namu Shinnyo is a veritable mantra that leads us to spiritual liberation and awakening while recognising the Shinnyo Parents and the Ryodoji (“The Shinnyo Masters”) as the principal timeless figures we turn to for refuge.
