This year, the 113th anniversary of Master Shinjo’s birth will take place at the Yuon Sanctuary in western Japan. The service will be broadcast in the Singapore temple on 28th March at 2pm & 7.30pm respectively.
Shinnyo-en Founding Master Shinjo was born as Fumiaki Ito on March 28, 1906, in the foothills the Yatsugatake mountains in Yamanashi prefecture, Japan. From childhood, Fumiaki demonstrated an aptitude for kindness, leadership, innovation, and spiritual insight as he inherited from his father the Byozei method of discernment that ran in his family. This was to take on a greater role as Shinjo’s life led him towards helping others experience happiness and fulfillment in their lives.
After he began his life with Master Tomoji, together they founded the Shinnyo Path, determined to dedicate their lives for the sake of people and the world. Until the very end, he continued to offer heartfelt rites for the realization of a more peaceful world, the wellbeing of the living, and the comfort and solace of all souls. We have our sangha today through the births of the Shinnyo Founders and their dedication to paving a path for all to be spiritually awakened. Therefore, we mark these occasions by expressing our thanks and renewing our pledge to act in concrete ways.
