Annually on August 16, Her Holiness Shinso will conduct the Water Consolatory and Merit Transfer Service in Japan. This service will be broadcast in the Singapore temple on 19 Aug, Saturday at 4pm, and will be followed by a local lantern floating ceremony.
We would like to invite your family and friends to join us at our local lantern floating ceremony this Saturday, to share your messages of remembrance, gratitude, and love.
Traditionally, Lanterns are floated as part of a custom to remember one’s ancestors. People send prayers and remembrances to their ancestors and loved ones during this period. At the service, Her Holiness Shinso Ito also invited all spirits to the altar, offering them the infinite merit of the Nirvana Teachings.
